FAQ

Welcome to Oodle Pups!  We are excited to share our love of our Labradoodle girls with you Pip and Rosie.

We are a small breeder of Labradoodles and other Oodles varieties in beautiful Brisbane. Our goal is not only good health and temperament but also happiness for both owner-dog relationships and providing educational resources to provide insight into understanding how best to care for your new family member.

FAQ

The short answer is yes! Labradoodles are gentle and happy dogs that love to play. Their affectionate nature makes them very easy for a family to look after, and they’re intuitive to your family’s emotional state.

They’re also very friendly and clever! Because they’re intelligent dogs, they’re easy to train and enjoy when you challenge them.

At Oodle Pups, we are looking to breed Labradoodles of two sizes.

Small

  • Height: 35cm – 42cm
  • Weight typically between 7kg & 13kg

Medium

  • Height: 43cm – 52cm
  • Weight typically between 13kg & 20kg

Our Labradoodles have a fleecy or a wool coat. The fleece coat (which looks wavy or curly) is soft and textured, whilst the wool coat resembles lamb’s wool and can feel slightly coarser to touch.

There is no real difference between having a male or female pup. It’s really down to your preference. It is better to select a dog with a similar personality and energy level that will match your lifestyle than gender.
We don’t offer transportation and only allow pick-up from our home.

New puppies are required to go through several checks at the vet to make sure everything is fine and dandy.

During this time, they’ll get vaccinated at 6 weeks, microchipped, and have social time with other dogs.

We’ll also give them basic obedience training, early stages of toilet training, collar, and lead walking.

We want to make this as easy as possible for you to take the dog home and not have any issues.

Puppies are ready to go home after 8-12 weeks. Studies show that the longer puppies stay with their mother, the less anxious and needy they become and the more emotionally they develop.

You’ll receive all the necessary paperwork when you take home your puppy. This includes vaccination certificates and microchip details.

We’ll give you a blanket or toy with the mother’s scent, making it easier for your dog to settle in at home. Dry food to get you started, photos of your pups first few weeks, photos of Mum and Dad, birth certificate and a few other things.

You’ll also get helpful tips and hints about settling your puppy into their new home and grooming and training information.

Our dogs are mostly inside dogs so they get groomed every six weeks and bathed once a fortnight. This is a good starting point if you’re a new dog owner, and we recommend you adapt to your and your dog’s lifestyle.
We always wash our dogs after a day swimming at Bribie Island, or if they have found all the mud on a walk.

We encourage you to brush your dog daily to avoid getting any matting and getting your pup comfortable with it as it sets a routine.
